A quick recap of the events of Star Trek Generations and then the main course: the death of Kirk!  Why did The Powers That Be kill off one of the series' most enduring characters?  Did they do a good job with it?  I'll take a look at the film's broadcast ending and also the original, deleted ending and offer some thoughts.
